R. HAROLD AMUNDSON		   (From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	R. Harold Amundson, Soldier, Iowa passed away at his residence in 
Soldier on June 7, 1978.
	Harold, son of Ole and Janet Ballantyne Amundson, was born October 24, 
1904 at Soldier, Iowa.  
	On June  2, 1923 he married Alta Anderson.  To this union two sons and 
one daughter were born and a daughter was adopted.
	On November 19, 1944 he was united in marriage to Alice Brakefield 
Monnie in Long Beach, California.  	

     Survivors include his wife, Alice of Soldier; three daughters, Mrs. 
Merrill (Shirley Monnie) Gran of Soldier, Iowa,  Barbara of California,  Betty 
of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Amundson of Soldier; eight 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Merrill (Ruby) 
Struble of Turin, Iowa and a brother Fred Amundson of Oregon.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Raymond Harold, who 
died in infancy and Richard Arlen; a grandson, George Amundson, and three 
brothers.
