Casper, one of our most beloved citizens, had lived his entire life here. He was a friend to everyone, a real neighbor and and(sic) a hard worker. Casper was always faithful to his church and community and always willing to do his share for the betterment of mankind. Funeral services were held from the Soldier Valley Lutheran Church Tuesday afternoon, rev. E. E. Hoff in charge. Burial was in Soldier Valley cemetery under the direction of Ralph Oldham. Casper Amundson, son of Arnt and Andrine Amundson, was born at Soldier, Iowa on August 12, 1872, his parents having come to American from Urskog, Norway two years before his birth. He was baptized and confirmed in the Soldier Valley Lutheran Church and was a faithful member until his death. On September 5, 1900 he was united in marriage to Anne Marie Severson and to this union five children were born. Mr. Amundson was engaged in farming until he was taken ill, suffering a stroke in November.
