(Bill) Ballantyne, 53, were held at the First Southern Baptist Church at Sierra Vista, Arizona, November 25. Rev. Bill Barker officiated. The American Legion rendered military honors. Interment was in Memory Gardens, Sierra Vista, with Hubbard Mortuary in charge of arrangements. A SeeBee in World War II, Mr. Ballantyne had been associated with the county on road construction and maintenance in recent years. He is survived by his widow, Violet and a daughter, Mrs. Donald Hyso, both of Sierra Vista. A son, Mike E. is with the U. S. Navy, San Diego. A sister, Mrs. Gladys Smith, Woodbine, Iowa, a sister Mrs. Mabel Thompson and a brother Andrew, both of Soldiers, Iowa, and twin grandsons. (Social Security files say 1964 – written date at top of article indicates 1963) Floyd Ballantyne Is Heart Victim Floyd (Bill) Ballantyne of Sierra Vista, Arizona, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark Ballantyne, died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday evening. “Bill”, as he was best known by Soldier people, grew up in this community and received his schooling here. After leaving Soldier he worked in Panama for some time and it was there that he met his wife. Funeral services were held at Sierra Vista Wednesday, Nov. 25. Surviving besides his wife and family are two sister, Mrs. Clyde Smith of Woodbine and Mrs. Angle Thompson of Soldier; one brother, Andy Ballantyne of Soldier and a number of other relatives and friends.
