John Ballantyne
Rites Held				(From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	
	
	John Thoreson Ballantyne, eldest son of John Emery and Ella Thoreson 
Ballantyne, was born at Moorhead, Iowa on November 1, 1911.  He passed away at 
a Sioux City hospital on August 29, 1968.	
	On June 25, 1935, he was united in marriage to Margaret Jones of 
Soldier.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and his 
grandmother, who had been his guardian.
	He leaves to mourn his passing the widow; one daugher and one son, 
both of Omaha, and four grandchildren.  He is also survived by one sister, 
Mrs. H. R. Smith of Castana and one brother, Kleon W. Ballantyne of Moorhead.
