	Andrew M. Ballantyne, 79, Onawa, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 2, 
1987, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, NE.
	He was born August 3, 1908, in Spring Valley Township, Monona County, 
Iowa, to Mark and Sophia (Skow) Ballantyne.   On December 31, 1938, he married 
Edras (Lozier) Adams at Moorhead.  She had been married to Gerald Adams from 
June 11, 1928, until his death on January 22, 1936.  
	
	Survivors include his wife, Edras, one son, Marvin, of Montrose, 
Colo., two step-daughters, Wanda Adams of Iowa City, and Mrs. Donald 
(Geraldine) Adams Shrandt of Denver, Colo., one sister Mrs. Norman (Mable) 
McCallum of Soldier, an aunt, Ella Severson of Sioux City, twelve 
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Gladys Smith, and 
one brother, Floyd “Bill” Ballantyne.
