	Dale D. Barnes, age 77, of Ute, Iowa, died on Sunday, October 16, 1988 
in Omaha, Nebraska.
	
	Mr. Barnes was born on January 19, 1911, to James Minor and Mary Ann 
(Smith) Barnes in Unionville.    He married Margaret McCall on September 11, 
1931, in Ute, Iowa.  
	Dale was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Betty Jean; 
five brothers, and five sisters.
	Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Darlene) Snow 
of Castana, Iowa, Mrs. Wayne (Joanie) Ohlmeier, Mrs. Joseph (Kathy) Carlson, 
and Mrs. Larry (Donna) Hintz, all of Ute, Iowa, and Mrs. Gene (Janet) 
Schneekoth of Omaha, Nebraska; a foster daughter, Mrs. George (Marcella) 
Castle of Mapleton, Iowa; a foster son, Elijah “Bud” Tidd of Tioga, Louisiana; 
two sisters, Frances Tadlock of Sioux City, Iowa, and Florence Nagel of Onawa, 
Iowa; twenty grandchildren; and thirty-nine great-grandchildren.
