	 Donald C. Bedford, 77, of Onawa died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997,  in 
Apache Junction, AZ.
	Mr. Bedford was born Aug. 23, 1920, near Onawa, the son of James R. 
and Ethel (Hoar) Bedford.  
	He married Gertrude L. Collett in 1946.  She died in 1950.  He married 
Amy (Johnson) Stender on Aug. 1, 1951, in Moorhead, Iowa.  
	Survivors include his wife; a son, Ron of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a 
sister, Faye A. Terry of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother and his wife, Leslie 
and Betty of Richfield Springs, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces 
and nephews.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Fern Koithan.
