	Maurice L. Benjamin, 67, a lifelong resident of Onawa, IA died 
Wednesday, July 15, 1992 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Omaha, NE.
	He was born May 10, 1925 in Onawa to Bert and Edith (Messing) 
Benjamin.  
	On August 16, 1949 he married Verla Heisterkamp in Blencoe, IA.  
	Survivors include his wife, Verla, and eight children:  Dr. Louise 
Benjamin of Bloomington, IN; Louis Benjamin of Iowa Falls; Leo and his wife, 
Diane Benjamin of Whiting; Dr. Joseph Benjamin of Ft. Collins, CO; Edwin 
Benjamin of Onawa; Frank and his wife, Laurie Benjamin of Fort Dodge; Regina 
and her husband, David Bakker of Grinnell; and Matthew Benjamin of Grinnell.  
His nine grandchildren are Michelle, Michael, Anne, Katherine, Rebecca, 
Andrew, Elizabeth, and Daniel Benjamin all of Whiting and William Bakker of 
Grinnell.  Surviving are brothers Paul Benjamin and Herbert Benjamin of Onawa 
and Thomas Benjamin of South Sioux City, NE.  His sisters are Mary Benjamin 
and Mrs. Virginia Beck of Onawa and Mrs. John (Helen) Ryan of Blencoe.  Many 
other relatives and friends also survive him.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Reverend 
Father George Benjamin.
