Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8 at Soldier Lutheran Church with Pastor Harry C. Sorensen officiating. Mrs. Norman C. Hanson sang “In The Garden” and “Softly And Tenderly” with Mrs. Harry Andersen as organist. Interment was in Soldier Valley Cemetery with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier. Bearers were Clifford Bennett, Carl and Harold Longlee, Olaf Olson and Gordon Swenson Brady Bergerson was born April 1, 1885 at Drammon, Norway to Thea and Burger Bergerson, and passed from this life at the Bennett Nursing Home in Turin Tuesday, July 5, 1966 at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 4 days. He had been a resident of the Soldier community since 1924 until the last three years at the nursing home. Mr. Bergerson was a retired farmer and was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church. On September 24, 1916, he was united in marriage to Magna Halverson and to this union three daughters and four sons were born: Trace, Margith and Ruth, Rudolph, Lafe, Olaf and Selmer. Survivors include his daughters, Mrs. Frank Wimer of Mapleton, Mrs. Steve Soukup of Sioux City and Mrs. Roger Scoles of Mapleton; his sons, Rudolph and Olaf of Seattle, Wash., and Lafe and Elmer of Redwood, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Bjerks of Oslo, Norway; 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friend throughout this area. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1946.
