Mary Bretthauer

	Mary Bretthauer, age 85, of Ute, Iowa, died on Sunday, July 24, 1988, 
in a South Sioux City, Nebraska, nursing home.
	
	Mrs. Bretthauer, the former Mary Hartigan, was born on November 28, 
1902, to Daniel and Margaret (Higgins) Hartigan in Ute, IA.   She married 
Edward Bretthauer on January 24, 1944, at Ute, Iowa.  He died on December 2, 
1982.  
	She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, 
and two sisters.
	Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Torgerson and Mrs. 
Marcella Larsen, both of Battle Creek, Iowa; a brother, Daniel Hartigan of 
Dunlap, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Viola Lundt of Danbury, Iowa; and many nieces 
and nephews.
