MRS. BESSIE 
BRITTON			        (From the collection of Vivian Norby Andersen)

	Mrs. Bessie Louise Britton, a lifelong resident of Soldier, Iowa, 
passed away at the Maple Heights Care Center in Mapleton, Iowa on August 20, 
1980.
	She was born at Soldier on January 21, 1888, to Joseph and Rosann Mead 
Carritt.  She was married to Gilbert Britton on March 8, 1906, at Ute, Iowa. 
Mr. Britton preceded her in death in 1956.  
	She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Doris) Enabnit of 
Ventura, Iowa, one granddaughter and one grandson and six great 
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one 
son, four brothers, and three sisters.
	Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 1980, at the
