EDWIN  J.  CARLSON						1993

	Edwin J. Carlson, 95, of Onawa, IA and formerly of Sloan, Iowa, died 
Wednesday, April 7, 1993, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa.
	He was born December 21, 1897, in Swedona, IL, the son of Andrew J. 
and Selma (Youngstrom) Carlson  On June 14, 1923, he married Goldie I. Smith 
in Salix, IA.
	Survivors include:  his wife, Goldie; two daughters and their 
husbands, Delores and Marvin Sletten of Manly, IA, and another daughter of 
Castana, IA; three sisters, Leona Everson of Apple Valley, MN, Betty Fletcher 
of Onawa, and Ruby Morton of Whiting; three grandchildren; six great-
grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Howard; a sister, 
Florence; and a brother and sister in infancy.
