	Joseph Nelsen Carritt, Ute, died April 8, 1996 at Mapleton, Iowa.
	He was born August 22, 1911, on his grandfather’s farm north of 
Soldier, Iowa, the son of Thomas Andrew and Martha (Nelsen) Carritt.   He was 
united in marriage to Clara Neubaum on August 22, 1931.  
	
	He is survived by his wife, Clara, his children, Bob and his wife, 
Elaine Carritt of Denison, Iowa, Dick and his wife, Pat Carritt of 
Tallahassee, FL, Roma Schimmer of Carroll, Iowa, Nancy and her husband, Roger 
Scott and Larry and his wife, Carol Carritt all of Omaha, NE; fourteen 
grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Carritt 
of Little Sioux, Iowa and Harold Carritt of Fremont, NE.
	Joe was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Blanche, 
Marian, Wilma and Ruth and one brother, Thomas.
