	Mrs. Carl Christensen, 68, of Ute, a resident of the Soldier community 
for many years, passed away at the Onawa hospital Thursday after a long 
illness.
	Funeral services were held at the Ute Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. 
Sunday, February 2 with the Rev. Elmer Hodge officiating.  Burial was in St. 
Clair cemetery with arrangements by the Oldham Funeral Home of Solder(sic).  
Pallbearers were John Aaby, Gale Dahl, Harlow Henry, Oscar Larson, Brady 
Riddle and Elmer Savery.
	Amanda Jensen was born June 23, 1889 in Shelby county, Iowa to Mr. and 
Mrs. Lars Jensen.  In 1894 she moved to Monona county and lived two miles west 
of Ute with her parents where she resided until her marriage to Carl 
Christensen April 5, 1916 at the Christian Church in Ute.  She as a member of  
the Ladies Aid of the church.
	They settled on a farm south of Ute three years and then in 1919 moved 
to a farm west of Soldier where they resided for 19 years.  In 1938 they moved 
to Ute where she made her home until her death.
	She was taken to the Onawa hospital where she passed away January 30, 
1958 after a lingering illness, at the age of 68 years, seven months and seven 
days.
	To this union four children were born.  Two daughters, Lucille and 
twin daughter, Helen, preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death 
by one sister, Anna Christman and an infant brother.
	Survivors are her husband, Carl of Ute; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Dahl 
(Ellen) and Mrs. Elmer Mordhorst (Luetta), of Soldier; three brothers, Peter 
of Sioux City, Chris and John of Ute; one sister, Mrs. Efraim Jensen (Clara) 
of Soldier, and five grandchildren.
	She was baptized in the Christian Church January 19, 1915.
	Being a devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed helping her family in 
their needs.  Her presence will be missed by her many relatives and friends.
