Obituary
	Carl Christensen                        (From the collection of Vivian 
Norby Andersen)

	Carl Christensen, 79, of Rodney, a former member of the Ute, Iowa, 
town council and Soldier School Board died Sunday at Hico, Texas.
	
	Mr. Christensen was born May 17, 1890 near Soldier, and was a resident 
of Monona County nearly all his life.  He married Amanda Jensen in 1916.  She 
died Jan. 29, 1958.  He married Zella Albertsen in April 1959.  
	Survivors include the widow:  two daughters, both of Soldier; two step-
sons, Tom Werling of San Antonio, Texas and Jerry Werling of Onawa, Iowa; a 
step-daughter Mrs. Virgil (Margie) Craig of Rodney; four sisters, Mrs. Annie 
McShannon of Soldier, Mrs. Blanche Anderson of Sloan, Mrs. Nina McMinimee of 
Denison and Mrs. Harley Curnes of Winterset; 10 grandchildren and 5 great 
grandchildren.
	Preceding him in death were his parents, two daughters, one brother, 
two sisters and one granddaughter.
