Her parents immigrated from Denmark and originally settled near Davenport, Iowa. They later moved to a farm in Shelby County near Harlan where Minnie was born, the third of twelve children, six girls and six boys. Minnie and Andrew Christensen, who they called A.C., grew up 3-1/2 miles apart. They were married in 1901. They raised five children, four boys and one girl, two of whom are still living. Vernon and Marie (Skow). Andrew died of a heart attack in 1937. Minnie passed away on Friday evening, October 22, 1982, at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, IA. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Marie) Skow, Moorhead, Iowa, and one son, Vernon of Onawa, twelve grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters and six brothers and three sons, Harry, Edward, and Elmer.
