He was born on April 8, 1902 at Ute, Iowa, the son of George Henry and Belle Amelia Christianson. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Soldier. He was married Sept. 2, 1928 to Thelma Kessler and to Theresa Schott on Jan. 6, 1955, both of whom preceded him in death. One July 27, 1966 he was married to Charlene Fagreluis. Also preceding Dennis in death were his parents and one brother, Edward. Survivors include his wife, four brothers, Lloyd and Earl of Seattle, Washington, Howard of Ackley, Ia., Bennett of Sloan, Ia. And one sister, Dorothy, in missionary service in India. Dennis was for many years engaged in road construction work. Since 1932 he has been successfully engaged in farming and took an active part in community affairs. He served in various capacities on the following community projects: Farm Bureau, Farm Service, Township Board of Trustees, county Board of Education and on the Board of Directors of the Peoples National Bank. He was also for many years a breeder of purebred livestock. He was a member in good standing of the Masonic Lodge. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacey-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. James Reinhard officiating. Casket bearers were Robert Murdoch, Fred Everett, Leslie Everett, Gaylord McCullough, Lyle McKean and Farrel Gabriel Music was by Cecil Schlichting and Robert Fulton. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine. Dennis’ sister, Dorothy, flew from India (26-1/2 hours flying time) the first week in October and helped care for him through a great deal of suffering. She plans to return to India later on.
