	Joseph Dergans, 92, of Whiting, formerly of Soldier, died August 17, 
1986 at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.
	He was born May 10, 1894, at Earling, Iowa to John and Catherine 
(Gaul) Dergans.   On February 22, 1933, he married Ella Gertrude Flynn at 
Ute.    Mrs. Dergans died February 19, 1965.  
	
	Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Rose Flynn of Mapleton; three 
nephews, Dr. James N. Flynn of Missions Hills, Kan., Gene Wimmer of Mapleton, 
and August Wimmer of Danbury; five nieces, Mrs. Lawrence (Leona) Collins of 
Mapleton, Mrs. Joe (Katherine) Rosch of Denison, Margaret Good and Nora 
Reimer, both of Danbury, and Mrs. W. J. (Rose) Cloud of Oto.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters and 
three brothers.
