During her long illness everything possible was done to ease her burden. Funeral services were held at Soldier Lutheran Church Wednesday, August 4 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Harry Sorensen officiating. Mrs. Bernard Berens was soloist and sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Safe In The Arms of Jesus”. She was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Harry Andersen. Interment was in St. Clair Cemetery at Ute with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier. Pallbearers were Lloyd Olson, Vernon Olson, Lyle Outhouse, Donald Owens, Omar Nelson and Bernard Thoreson. Ingeborg O. “Belle” Dickinson was born June 3, 1884 near Soldier, Iowa, a daughter of Arne and Dorothy Olson. Death came on Sunday evening, August 1, 1965 at a Nursing Home in Sioux City. Mrs. Dickinson had been in ill health for several years. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Soldier where she took an active part in the activities as long as her health permitted. She held a Life Membership in the W. M. F. and worked in the Circles and Aid Society. On May 5, 1906 she was united in marriage to John Raymond Dickinson at Canton, S. D. Mr. Dickinson died in 1950. She had been a life-time resident of the Soldier community. Survivors include one son, John Dickinson of Soldier; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five brothers, Ole of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Ingvold, Olaf and Arthur of Soldier and Amund of Harrisburg, S. D.; three sisters, Mrs. Inga Hines of Soldier, Mrs. Dena Outhouse of Woodbine and Mrs. Tena Murray of Sioux City. There are a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Annie, and two brothers, Carl and Sigurd.
