She had been ill for many years. Funeral services were held at the Soldier Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Maynard Moen officiating. Mrs. Norman C. Hanson was soloist and sang “Nearer My God To Thee” and “Abide With Me.” Mrs. Harry Andersen was at the organ. Burial was in Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier. Bearers were Art Olson, Bennett Hagen, Andy Ballantyne, Martin Torgerson, Joe Dergans and Wm. McShannon. Rachel Holmson Eneboe was born in Norway July 16, 1894 and passed away at Soldier October 5, 1961 at the age of 67 years, two months and 19 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway and came to the United States in 1913, residing at Soldier most of that time with the exception of ten years at Castana and a few years in other parts of the county. She married Joseph Eneboe April 1, 1922 at Canton, S. D. and he passed away in 1941. Surviving are her two sons, Robert and Merle of Soldier; two grandchildren; one sister, Martha Christopherson in Norway. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Roy in 1934 and her parents and three sisters.
