   Clara D. Dorale, age 93 of Mapleton, Iowa, died Sunday, January 19, 2003, 
at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton. 

   Clara Dora Anna Dorale was born February 2, 1909, in rural Mapleton, Iowa, 
the daughter of Carl and Martha (Farnall) Meyer. On February 22, 1948, Clara 
was united in marriage to George Engelke. He passed away January 7, 1954. She 
then married Albert Dorale August 17, 1958 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in 
Mapleton. He passed away December 6, 1982. 

     Survivors include one brother, August Meyer of Mapleton; her step-
children, Ruby Stotmeister and her husband, Don of Butler, Missouri, Kenneth 
Dorale and his wife, Diane of Bronson, Iowa and Donna Danna and her husband, 
Mario of Palo Alto, California; nine step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-
grandchildren; and a  nephew and his wife, Marvin and Joyce Kruse of Mapleton, 
along with many other nieces, nephews and good friends. 
Along with her husbands, Clara was preceded in death by her parents, three 
brothers, Gerhardt, Emiel and Carl Meyer, four sisters, Meta Fick, Ida 
Engelke, Freda Kruse and Martha Meyer; three brothers-in-law, John Fick, 
Marvin Engelke and Henry Kruse, and three sisters-in-law, Alta Meyer, Elfreda 
Meyer and Nadean Meyer.
