Julius Erickson
Obituary                           (From the collection of Vivian Norby 
Andersen)

	Services for Julius E. Erickson, 86, who died at the home of his 
daughter, Mrs. Manning Wilson in Marshalltown Monday, May 18 were held from 
Elim Lutheran Church there at 2 p.m. May 20.  Rev. B. O Kokensgard 
officiated.  Burial was in Riverside cemetery with Perrin Funeral home in 
charge.
	Born March 16, 1878 at Soldier, Iowa, he was the son of Erick and Mary 
Rude Olson.  He received his education in the area of his birth, and was 
baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
	On Feb. 4, 1903 at Onawa he was married to Sena Bertina Blom and they 
farmed in Canton, S. D., Bowden, N. D. , and Nevis, Minn., for several years 
before returning to Iowa in 1927 where they lived in Soldier and Mapleton.  In 
1941, they moved to Union, where they lived until her death on March 9, 1942.  
Mr. Erickson then moved to Marshalltown where he was employed by Riverside 
Cemetery.
	Also preceding in death was a child in infancy, four brothers and a 
sister.
	Mr. Erickson was a member of the Elim Lutheran Church.
	Surviving are five children, Mrs. Manning Wilson and Mrs. Robert 
White, both of Marshalltown, Ednar Erickson, Sheyene(sic), N. D.; Oliver 
Erickson, Ida Grove, and Mrs. Warren Kraft, Dallas, Texas.  Also surviving are 
17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Clemon 
of Onawa and Mrs. Tillie Olson of Ute.
	Mr. and Mrs. John Datterl of Dunlap, Mr. and Mrs. Voyle Blackman of 
Moorhead, Elmer Erickson of Ute, Edwin and Gertrude Erickson and Mrs. E. C. 
Lee attended the funeral.
