     Arnold C.H. Fick, 78, of Mapleton died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Burgess 
Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.

      Arnold Carl Henry Fick was born Jan. 26, 1925, near Mapleton, the son of 
John Carl Martin and Meta Christina Carolina (Meyer) Fick. He married Violet 
Ruth Waderick on Sept. 22, 1945, on the Fick family farm. Violet passed away 
Feb. 20, 1997.
    Surviving are  two daughters, Bonnie Scheer of Mapleton and Debra and her 
husband, Darwin Hesebeck, of Manassas, Va.; a son and his wife, Bruce and Pat 
Fick of Mitchellville, Iowa; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five 
sisters, Esther Rickert of Mapleton, Alta Patterson of Anthon, Iowa, Opal and 
her husband, Clair Maguire, of Danbury, Iowa, Dora and her husband, Lowell 
Chellew, of Sioux City and Wilma and her husband, Douglas Siefker, of Sioux 
City; a brother-in-law and his wife, Leo and Mary Waderich of Hornick, Iowa; a 
sister-in-law and her husband, Hazel and Earl Johnson of Onawa, Iowa; along 
with many other relatives and friends.

Along with his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, 
Wilfred; and two brothers-in-law, Walter Rickert and Wayne Patterson.
