	Oscar Foss, 85, of Onawa, Iowa, formerly of Soldier, Iowa, died 
Thursday, October 10, 1991, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.
	He was born May 24, 1906, southeast of Soldier to Ole and Julia 
(Amundson) Foss,  On June 6, 1937, he married Edith Johnson at the Soldier 
Country Church.  
	
	Survivors include his wife, one daughter and her husband, Ila and Cleo 
E. Ping of Sloan, one son and his wife, Gordon and Barbara Foss of Soldier, 
five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one sister, Elma Ryan of 
Onawa.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four 
sisters.
