She had been a resident of the Soldier community over thirty years. Mrs. Frydenlund had been ill off and on for the past couple of years but it was not known until a few months back that she could not recover. Everything possible was done to relieve the suffering of this fine mother. She will be greatly missed by her two children and the many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Frydenlund was always active in the work of her church. Funeral services were held from Soldier Lutheran Church Saturday, April 2 at 2:00 o’clock, with the Rev. John C. Kilde giving the sermon. Burial was in Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Oldham Funeral Home. Mrs. Julia Frydenlund, daughter of Sander and Mary Brynjulson, was born January 24, 1894 at Canton, South Dakota. On February 16, 1921 she was united in marriage to Lauritz Frydenlund. The Frydenlunds moved to the Soldier community soon after their marriage. To this union three children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Mrs. Frydenlund passed away March 31, 1955 at the age of 61 years, two months and seven days. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1941. Surviving are: one son, Stanley of Soldier, and one daughter, Mrs. Vern Denney of Blencoe; two grandchildren and eight sisters, Mrs. C. O. Anderson and Mrs. Ida Kuhns of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mrs. Amund Olson of Harrisburg, S. D., Mrs. Alfred Nelson of Canton, S.D., Mrs. Ed Full of Austin, Minn., Mrs. Alfred Schmidt of Larchwood, Iowa, and Mrs. Harold Hull of San Leandro, Calif. Mrs. Frydenlund was a faithful member of Soldier Lutheran Church.
