	Vernon Gibbs, age 78, of Boone, Iowa, died of heart failure at Boone 
County Hospital on October 17, 1994.
	He was born in Soldier, Iowa on September 2, 1916 the son of Arthur 
and Thrasa (Miller) Gibbs.  On June 1, 1942 he married Marjorie Talcott in 
Dunlap.  
	He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Philip and 
one sister.  He is survived by a son, Joe of Boone, three daughters, Patricia 
Weichert, and Francine Darner both of Boone and Kathleen Alevantis of 
Fairfield, CA, a sister, Marcella Nordaker of Ute, Iowa, eight grandchildren 
and three great grandchildren.
