	Herman W. Gust, age 85 died on Sunday, January 24, 1988, at his home 
in Mapleton, IA.
	
	Mr. Gust was born on February 13, 1902, to Herman and Dorthea 
(Freerking) Gust in Monona County near Mapleton, Iowa.    He married Ruth A. 
Waack on December 26, 1926, in Ute, Iowa.    She died on August 7, 1972.
	
	He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother.
	Survivors include a daughter, Miss Lorene Gust of Mapleton, Iowa; a 
son, Lawrence Gust of Mapleton, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
