	Oscar Melvin Hanson, 85, of Rodney, Iowa, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, 
at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.
	Mr. Hanson was born August 4, 1912, at Soldier, Iowa the son of Ole T. 
and Mattia (Fjeld) Hanson.   On June 29, 1935, he married Eva Greenough at Elk 
Point, SD.    Mrs. Hanson died January 30, 1989, in Sioux City, Iowa.
	
	He is survived by a son and his wife, Leonard and Karen Hanson of 
Charter Oak, Iowa; three grandsons; two granddaughters; eight great 
grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Zelda Greenough of Sioux City, Iowa, Neola 
Greenough of Mapleton, Evva Mauch of Castana, Cora Hanson of Soldier, and 
Louise Hanson of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, 
Guy, Henry, and Clarence Hanson; and two sister, Emma Graetz and Mary Ulven.
