	Viola Gertrude Hanson, 73, of Soldier, died Sunday, February 12, 1989, 
in Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.
	She was born November 7, 1915, in Jordan Township, near Soldier, Iowa 
to Jens P. and Carrie (Madison) Jensen.  On August 17, 1937, she married 
Milfred L. Hanson at Mapleton.  
	Survivors include her husband, Milfred, one son and daughter-in-law, 
Larry Sherwin and Judy Hanson of Glen Ellyn, Ill., two grandchildren, three 
brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and Ruth Jensen of Soldier, Robert and 
Edna Jensen of Castana, and Russell and Betty Jensen of Omaha, one sister, 
Lola Jensen of Onawa, eight nieces and nephews and many other relatives and 
friends.
	She was preceded in death by her parents.
