When about four years of age he moved with his parents to a farm east of Moorhead, where he made his home the rest of his life. On February 19, 1919 he was united in marriage to Minnie Nicholsen at Onawa. To this union five children were born, four sons, two passing away in infancy, and Claire Harris of Onawa, Maynard Harris of Moorhead, and one daughter, Maxine Griffith of Pisgah. Survivors besides his wife and children are the daughters-in-law, son- in-law, and six grandsons and four granddaughters. His parents and three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Harris was a member of the Soldier Lutheran church and had a host of friends in the Soldier and Moorhead communities. Funeral services were held July 18 at 10:30 at the Soldier Lutheran country church. Pastor John E. Carlsson of Onawa officiated. Magnus Jepson sang The Old Rugged Cross and The Lord’s Prayer, accompanied by Mrs. Jepson. Jean Amunson was organist. Casket bearers were Wayne Outhouse, Fred W. Bell, Harry Carlson, Raymond Fredrickson, Loren Coberly and Glen E. Thoreson. Interment was in Spring Valley cemetery at Moorhead with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home.
