She had been staying at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harold Swenson for several weeks and was taken to the hospital on Monday morning. Funeral services will be held this Friday at 1:30 at the Soldier Lutheran Church, Pastor Harry Sorensen will officiate. Interment will be in Soldier Valley cemetery under the direction of Pearson funeral home. Mrs. Haugen, the former Nettie Foss, was born January 10, 1885 at Soldier. She spent most of her life but lived at Anthon eight years prior to moving to the home of her daughter a few weeks back. She married Einar Haugen Aug. 13, 1910 at Soldier and was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. John Hicks of Dunlap, Mrs. Swen K. Swenson of Storm Lake, Mrs. Olga Cornelius of Omaha, Mrs. Harold Swenson of Moorhead and Mrs. Donald Comfort of Onawa; five sons, Anton of Moville, John of Lakewood, Calif., James of San Pedro, Calif., Roland of Sioux City and Einar of the U. S. Army, stationed in Maryland; three sisters, Miss Josie Foss of Soldier, Mrs. Emma Torgerson of Little Sioux and Mrs. Elma Ryan of Omaha; four brothers, Otto Foss of Soldier, Henry Foss of Holstein, Oscar Foss of Onawa and Alfred Foss of Wadsworth, Kansas; 38 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
