John H. Helms                                (From the collection of Vivian 
Norby Andersen)

	ONAWA, Iowa – John H. Helms, 90, of Onawa, died Thursday in a hospital 
at Onawa.
	
	Mr. Helms was born Sept. 15, 1890, at Oldenburg, Germany. 
	He married Ellen Copple Hughes May 11, 1941, at Omaha.  
	Survivors include the widow; two stepdaughters, Mrs. August (Margaret) 
Rebhuhn of Spencer and Mrs. Hollis (Frances) Makey of Onawa; one stepson,  of 
South Sioux City; two sisters in Germany, Helene Albers of Kolm, and Martha 
Lucken of Oldenburg; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
