	Virgil Evans Johnson, 71, of Moorhead, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 
25, 1996, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
	Mr. Johnson was born September 21, 1925, at home near Moorhead, Iowa, 
the son of Andrew Jorgen and Lena (Sorenson) Johnson.      On June 19, 1949, 
he married Marjorie Leone Sorensen at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead.  
	
	Survivors include his wife, Leone, at Moorhead; a daughter, Nancy 
Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; three sons and their wives, Steve and Joanne of 
Onawa, Iowa, Sam and Susan and Mark and Kris, all of Moorhead; a brothers, 
Carroll and his wife, Jeanne of Moorhead; three sisters, Lavonne Woffington of 
Tarentum, Pennsylvania, Nola Eskelsen of Moorhead, and Rosalie and her 
husband, Ernest Schroeder of Honey Creek, Iowa; seven grandchilren; and many 
nieces and nephews.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Howard; a sister, 
Evelyn Hansen; and brothers-in-law, Irvin Hansen, John Woffington, and Page 
Eskelsen.
