Johnson was born on January 29, 1889 at Moorhead, Iowa and passed from this life May 8, 1967 at her home in Ute at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 9 days. Death came following a short illness. Luella was united in marriage to Carl Johnson April 12, 1916 in Onawa, Iowa. For several years she had been a resident of Moorhead and Soldier communities. She attended Norman Training Schools at Denison and Castana and taught country schools around Moorhead and Soldier for nine years. Luella lived in Woodbine for four years and for the past three years had made her home in Ute. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Moorhead. Survivors include her husband, Carl; two sons, Lyle and Vernon, both of Soldier; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Violet) Ulmer of Soldier; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, George Burke of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
