GEORGE JOHNSON
PASSES AWAY                                (From the collection of Vivian 
Norby Andersen)

	George Johnson was born in Shelby County, Iowa on November 25, 1888 
and passed from this life in the Burgess Memorial Hospital on Friday morning, 
June 19, 1970.  
	On November 12, 1913, he was united in marriage with Eunice Downing at 
Sioux City, Iowa.  
	Survivors include his wife, Eunice of Soldier; two daughters, 
(Fauneal) Mrs. Newell Lund of Soldier and (Dorothy) Mrs. DeWayne Eller of 
Pittsburg, California; three sons, Harold of Castana, Arvid of Onawa and Daryl 
of South Sioux City, Nebraska.  There are 21 grandchildren; 16 great 
grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Sydney Marsh, Mrs. Ted Marsh and Mrs. B. F. 
Sonksen all of Mapleton, Iowa.  There are several other relatives and friends.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons and one brother.
