	Herbert Hoover Johnston, 84, Turin, Iowa, died Friday, March 11, 
1988,  in Onawa, Iowa.
	He was born October 25, 1903, in McLean County, Ill. to Tyler and Ida 
(Hoover) Johnston.    On September 20, 1934, he married Addah M. Whisler in 
Corning, Kan.  
	Survivors include his wife, Addah, three sons, Terrance of Sgt. Bluff, 
John of Moville and James of Turin, one brother, Kingsley of Turin, eleven 
grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Asa, and two 
sisters, Hattie Jones and Laura Clarke.
