Jones, 88, a resident of Castana the past few years and a long time resident of the Soldier community died Tuesday at the Elmwood nursing home in Onawa where he had been since last fall. Mr. Jones was born August 2, 1874 at Oskaloosa, Ia. He married Ada Farber Jan. 1, 1899 at Ticonic. She died in 1954. He was a barber more than 60 years. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Helen Locke of Hartley, Iowa, Mrs. Kathryn Rankin of Denver, Colo., and Miss Janice Jones of Norfolk, Neb.; two sons, Rolland of Chicago and W. F. (Bill) of Denver; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Patterson Smithland, and several grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Castana community church at 2:00 p.m. this Thursday with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Burial will be in Kennebec cemetery with Pearson funeral home in charge.
