	Durward V. “Karl” Karlson, 66, Onawa, died on November 12, 1986, at 
Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, IA.
	He was born at Kingsley, on December 27, 1919, the son of Walter Louis 
Karlson and Gladys Hazel Vannorsdel Karlson.  
	He was married to Thelma Cook on February 8, 1944, at Grand Island, 
Neb.    Thelma died in Omaha, on April 12, 1974.  On April 27, 1975, he was 
married to Wilma Strider at Onawa.
	
	He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of Onawa, a son, Eric L. Karlson, 
of San Jose, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. James (Kay) Hitchman of Pine Bush, N.Y., 
three step-daughters, Mrs. Charles (Pamela) Thompson of Canton, Ohio, Mrs. 
Scott (Jean) Kendall of Onawa and Mrs. Dwight (Virginia) Bell of San Antonio, 
Texas, a sister, Ardis M. Karlson, of Kingsley, and six grandchildren and six 
step-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
