            Ellen M. Knoff, 87, of Newell, Iowa, formerly of Moorhead, died 
Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Center in Newell.
	Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Lutheran Church 
in Moorhead, with the Rev. Margo Fohs officiating.  Burial will be in Spring 
Valley Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the 
church.  Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
	Mrs. Knoff was born Feb. 2, 1910, in Moorhead, the daughter of J. 
George and Christena (Mortensen) Johnson.  
	She married Andrew T. Knoff on Feb. 27, 1931, in Onawa.  He died Jan. 
24, 1978, in Onawa.  
	Survivors include a daughter, Betty Knoff of Onawa; five sisters, 
Margaret Flayharty of Gladstone, Mo., Pearl and her husband Philip O’Dowd of 
Lom Poc, Calif., Velma Johnson of Elk City, Okla., and Doris and her husband 
Earl Nelsen of Racine, Wis., and Ethel Johnson of Storm Lake, Iowa; and 
several nieces and nephews.
	She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin, Clarence and John 
Johnson.
