    Vernon E. Knutson, 73, of Soldier died Saturday, Dec. 2, 1989, in Onawa, 
IA.
	Mr. Knutson was born Nov. 19, 1916, in rural Soldier.   He married 
Lucille Roberg Dec. 16, 1945, in Soldier.
	Survivors include his wife, Lucille; two sons, Larry Knutson of 
Mission Viejo, Calif., and Steven Knutson of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Harlan 
of St. Cloud, Minn., and William of Omaha; and three sisters, Mrs. Mercedes 
Jenkinson of Omaha, Mrs. Kenneth (Lucille) Gorham of Dunlap and Vivian Knutson 
of Denver.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clayton.
