She had gone through a severe seige of pneumonia but was thought to be well on the road to recovery when a relapse came Tuesday afternoon that caused her death about three o’clock Wednesday morning. Eddith had been taken to the Lutheran hospital at Sioux City while she had pneumonia in order that she might have the best of medical attention. It was thought that she had passed the critical stage before she was brought home. Everything possible in the way of care and medical science had been done for Eddith, but she was unable to stand the relapse. Eddith Larson was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar L. Larson, who reside on a farm three miles south of Soldier. She was eight years old. Eddith has attended the Soldier schools the past three years and was a regular attendant of Sunday School here in Soldier. Besides the mother and father, she leaves one sister to mourn her death. We extend our sympathy during their hours of sadness. Funeral services will be held at the family home and at the church south of Soldier, Friday afternoon . Rev. Hoifjeld will conduct the services. Obituary of Eddith Larson Eddith Eleanor Larson was born at Soldier, Iowa, November 23, 1922. She was baptized January 1, 1923. She was taken sick May 4, 1931 with a severe case of pneumonia, from which she was recovering nicely when complications set in. She was removed to the Lutheran hospital at Sioux City May 19, where an operation was performed to remove the fluid from her chest. She recovered nicely from this too, but on June 20 she suffered another relapse but her condition was not considered very serious until about 10:30 June 23. Kidney trouble developed and about 10:30 that evening she went into convulsions and passed away at 2:30 a.m., June 24th. At the time of her death she was 8 years, 7 months and 1 day old. Eddith was a daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar L. Larson. Besides her parents she leaves one sister, Arlene, to mourn her death. Funeral services were held from the family home and at the church south of Soldier Friday afternoon, Rev. Hoifjeld conducting the services. Mourn not the dead, though like the flower, Just opening to the morning ray, Nipped by disease’s cruel power, They fell from love’s embrace away. Where breathes no chill or tainted air, Where falls no darkness of the tomb, They prove the loving Savior’s care And blossom in immortal bloom.
