She was baptized in Soldier Valley Lutheran church June 21st of the same year. Arlene was a faithful member of the Soldier Lutheran Sunday school and attended the public school in Soldier. On the 11th of December, while at school she was taken ill with acute appendicitis. She was taken to the Ute hospital where an operation, apparently successful, was performed. Complications developed however and her condition became serious. All that medical science and loving attention could do, was done in hope of saving her life, but God willed otherwise and Arlene went home to Jesus on the 17th of December. She leaves to mourn her loss, her parents, Mrs. And Mrs. Oscar Larson, Grandmother Larson, and Great grandmother Peterson, besides a host of relatives and friends by whom Arlene will be sadly missed. A sister, Eddith, preceded her in death on the 24th of June of this year. Now these two sisters, parted from each other for a short time, have been reunited in that realm where there is no parting. Blessed be Arlene’s memory: Funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larson and at the church south of Soldier Saturday afternoon. A large number of friends braved the almost impassable roads to attend the funeral. Rev. Hoifjeld conducted the services.
