Leege of Ute, Iowa, died September 13, 1983, in Melstone, Montana, at the age of 90. She was born on August 28, 1893, in Chatham, Ontario, Canada, one of six children of Joseph and Emma Smith Wilcox. On November 4, 1914, she was married to Pastor Walter Leege in Lewistown, Montana. Her husband served as missionary pastor in Montana throughout his ministry. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1964. The couple had three children. The youngest, Walter George, died in 1942. Dora, Mrs. Lowell Howard, lives in Melstone, Montana. Pastor Robert Leege served St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute. From 1972 to 1976 Mrs. Leege made her home in Charter Oak, returning to Montana in 1976 to make her home with her daughter and husband in Melstone. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, by one son, by two sisters, and by three brothers. In addition to her daughter and son, Mrs. Leege is survived by three grandchildren and by seven great-grandchildren.
