Interment was in Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of Oldham Funeral Home. Olive Nelson was born in Norway June 5, 1878 and passed away Dec. 23, 1957 at Cherokee, Iowa at the age of 79 years, six months and 22 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway. She came to America as a young girl and made her home in Sioux City with relatives. On January 8, 1908 she was united in marriage to Brady Lund in Sioux City by the Rev. O. Andrew Norem, pastor of the then St. Peters Lutheran Church. They made their home in the vicinity of Soldier and Moorhead. To this union three sons and two daughters were born, the daughters dying in infancy. Mr. Lund passed away Dec. 6, 1936. Surviving are the three sons, Elliott of Climbing Hill, Harlow of Moorhead and Newell of Soldier; also 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several cousins. She was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church and the former Jordan Ladies Aid.
