He was treated at the Onawa hospital following the attack. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 21 at the Christian church in Moorhead. Rev. Oscar Barrows officiated. Evan Davies sang “Does Jesus Care” and “How Great Thou Art”, accompanied by Mrs. Wayne Outhouse. Interment was in Spring Valley cemetery at Moorhead with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Arthur and Raymond Fredrickson, Weston Taylor, Versal Knudsen, Donald Hodges and Wilbur Skow. Harold Kenneth Lund was born December 15, 1902 at Soldier, Iowa and passed from this life at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa on Sunday, December 19, 1965 at the age of 63 years and three days. He had been a lifetime resident of the Soldier and Moorhead communities with the exception of eight years when he lived in Oregon. He attended the Soldier school. Mr. Lund had been engaged in farming all his life. He was united in marriage to Clara M. Olson on July 18, 1931 at Sioux City, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Constance Louise who died in infancy and Betty Joan. Survivors include his widow, Clara and daughter, Mrs. Roger DeLance of Moorhead; three grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends who mourn his sudden passing.
