	Hugo W. Mahloch Sr., 88, of Onawa, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at 
Burgess Health Center in Onawa, IA.
	
	Mr. Mahloch was born Sept. 25, 1911, in DeWitt, Neb., the son of Louis 
and Marie (Elmshauser) Mahloch.  He married Helena Alvina Wollenburg on Oct. 
11, 1936, in Beatrice, Neb.  
	
	Survivors include his wife; three daughters and their husband, 
Kathleen and Gavin Nevins of Mapleton, Iowa, Dianne and Lawrence Pope of Des 
Moines and Nancy and Richard Pflager of Minneapolis; a son and his wife, Hugo 
Jr. and Christine of Onawa; three grandchildren; three brothers, Willard of 
Plymouth, Neb., Quinten and his wife, Jeanne of Omaha and Harvey and his wife, 
Alice of DeWitt; and a sister and her husband, Elizabeth and Arnold Ruhnke of 
Plymouth, Neb.
	He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis; and a sister, Christina 
Papke.
