	 Tom Ronald Masters, 98, died Sunday, April 6, 1997 in Mapleton.
	
	Mr. Masters was born March 13, 1898, in Center Township near Mapleton, 
the son of Jesse and Julia (Perrin) Masters.  He married Eula Wintermute on 
June 22, 1929, in Blockton, Iowa.
	Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Dwight and Alice of 
Mapleton; a daughter and her husband, Kathryn and Raymond Haafke of Bronson, 
Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Phyliss Master of Le Mars, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 19 
great-grandchildren; and a nephew.
	He was preceded in death by a son, Philip; a daughter, Elaine in 
infancy; a granddaughter, Judy Bramble; a great-grandson; and a brother, 
Donald.
