      Ronald Avery Maynard, 54, of Smithland died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996, at 
a Sioux City hospital.
	
	Mr. Maynard was born Jan. 17, 1942, near Rodney, Iowa, the son of 
Leslie and Helen (Jensen) Maynard He married Margaret Ann Johnston on June 18, 
1960, in Ticonic, Iowa.  
	
	Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Michael and 
Annette of Oto, Iowa, Mark and Joanne of Castana and John and Tracey of Battle 
Creek, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Ronda and Alan Timmerman of Castana; 
a sister and her husband, Carol and Ed Davis of Anthon, Iowa; and 12 
grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents.
