SADIE CLARA MELBY             (From the collection of Vivian Norby Andersen)

	Sadie Clara Melby, a lifetime resident of the Soldier, Iowa area 
passed away on May 27, 1975.  
	She was born on November 10, 1893, the daughter of Ole and Gunda 
Skilbried Nelson.  She was united in marriage to John Melby on October 16, 
1912 at Onawa, Iowa.
	Survivors include her husband, John of Soldier, Iowa, three sons, 
Milton and Howard of Soldier, and Cleo of Castana, Iowa, two daughters; twenty-
one grandchildren,  twenty-seven great grandchildren; one brother Henry Nelson 
of Ute, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Steen of Mapleton, Iowa.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, one son, two 
granddaughters, two grandsons, one brother, and one sister.
