       Raymond Clarence Melby, 78, LeMars, Iowa died February 24, 1990, at the 
Abbey Nursing Home of LeMars.
	He was born December 17, 1911, near Moorhead, Iowa, to Oscar and 
Christina (Lundberg) Melby.  On June 30, 1935, he married Evelyn Leon Hein at 
Dunlap, Iowa.  	Survivors include two sons, Dennis and his wife, Florence 
Melby of York, Neb. and Gary and his wife, Sue, Melby of Escondido, Calif., 
three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Moraine) Hasbrouck of Clear Lake, Iowa, Mrs. Jack 
(Nancy) Hoden of San Marcos, Calif., and Christy Vivion on Huntington Beach, 
Calif., two brothers, Clark Melby of Dunlap and Wilbur Melby of Pisgah, one 
sister, Ella Schlensig of Soldier, twelve grandchildren, and seven great 
grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Harry, Robert, 
Norman, and Earl, and one sister, Olga, and an infant son, Maynard Eugene.
